Things I’m loving Saturday, wait Thursday…

So things have been pretty busy around here, we’ve had cheer competitions, football practices, soccer and I’m slowly pulling my hair out and sipping on extra coffee. I wanted to get on here and share some things we have been LOVING!!!!

1. Planet 3

Earlier in the month we took the kiddos to the extreme air park in Clarksville, TN. We love this place and really love the family deals they do on Monday evenings where a family can score jump time for a reasonable rate. If you click on the link above, it’ll send you to their page and you can search by zip code to find your local park. They have a ninja obstacle course, rock walls, ultimate dodgeball, and so many trampolines to keep the kids busy and burn off some energy!

2. The Pharmacy Burger & Beer Parlor

This place is a 12 out of 10. This is my third time visiting and we ended up going on a beautiful warm sunny day which was a little off for March in Nashville. We chose to sit in the outdoor seating, where we were seated quickly and our drink orders taken immediately upon sitting down. I opted for the traditional cheeseburger with sweet potato fries.

You’ve got to try these fries- they are amazing!!! Head on over and enjoy a meal a made to order soda, or craft beer. P-H-E-N-O-M-E-N-A-L 💫

3. Miss Lucille’s Marketplace

I took Andrew on a special Mommy & Son date to Miss Lucille’s. They had a special event for Dr. Seuss’s Birthday and we enjoyed it so much! We have gone to Miss Lucille’s before to shop in the antique and craft store. They have hundreds of booths that are rented out and vendors put all their goodies on display. It’s open Monday- Sunday. A quick drive even from Nashville and well worth the trip.

On this day, we met the Cat in the Hat, read Dr. Seuss books and made a Truffala tree craft. It was such a good afternoon, and a great way to start the weekend.

4. Man of the Woods (Target Exclusive)

I picked up this cd on the day of release and haven’t stopped listening to it. It’s my go to when I’m on my way to work, or stuck in traffic on the way home. I love the song “Supplies”, and have really taken a liking to the song “The Hard Stuff”.

Brings me back to the good ol’ N’SYNC days, but much better. Follow JT on Instagram and it’ll be well worth it, he’s always running crazy contests for his fans. Even leaving signed copies of his album in Target for fans to pick up, using the code word “aardvark”. I mean what could be cooler than that?!

5. A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L’Engle

Obviously, we all know the Disney Motion Picture is out with an all-star cast, but I would highly suggest reading this easy read prior to viewing the movie. I enjoyed the book greatly, and our family hopes to see the movie within the next few weeks. I really don’t understand how I’ve made it into my 30’s without reading this previously, but it is definitely worth the read. I purchased my copy from Target at a good price as I prefer the actual book over the digital version.

I’ll be sending out a catch up post on all of our craziness here soon! Hope you enjoyed this post and it’s given you some awesome ideas of things to try. What are you loving this Thursday???

Welcome to the Family

Hello World 👋

I’d like to introduce you to our crazy little bunch!  We call ourselves the Billett Bunch.

My name is Merissa, most of my family and friends refer to me as ‘Mer’, which I do not mind as the coolest Grey’s Anatomy doctor is called ‘Mer’ for short.  While I’m no doctor, my background is in Communications and Marketing.  I freelance and work for a major telecommunications company.  My dream is to completely transition to working from home and freelancing, in order to be a more involved Mom as the kids grow.  I’m originally from Buffalo, New York but moved to the Nashville area in 2009.

I met my husband Tim in 2011, through mutual friends and we remained friends quite a bit until we decided to date exclusively.  He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, deployed three times and is a Purple Heart Recipient.  He was honorably discharged in 2015, after 9 years and now works for the same telecommunications company as a technician.  He enjoys hunting, being outdoors, playing too much Xbox and just being a really awesome Dad!

We had our first son, Andrew in 2013, ever since then he’s been keeping us on our toes.  He is now in Preschool and will be attending Kindergarten in the fall.  He plays soccer about 3 times a week and loves it. Drew Man loves space, rockets, paw patrol and anything loud and obnoxious.   He is a ball of energy and all boy, but he loves his Mommy and family so much.  He idolizes his big brother, Micah.

At around 6 months old, Andrew was lucky enough to have his two half siblings move into our home full-time.  The circumstances which caused this were not ideal, however, we have all adjusted and blossomed pretty gracefully.  Kailey just turned 12, and Micah will be 11 years old shortly.  We don’t use the words step, half and anything really that separates us all from one another.

Kailey is your normal 12-year-old, she is involved in competitive cheerleading, plays flute in her school’s band and is really artsy and crafty.  She just received her first “real” easel for Christmas from her grandparents and is in love.  She can be found tumbling throughout the house, jumping on the trampoline and probably with her friends running right behind.

Micah is just about 11 years old, he loves football and is the best big brother I could ever imagine.  He is a lover, and will always come up for a hug or to cuddle. He is a sweetheart.  Micah is usually running around throwing a football, or playing on his iPad and Xbox. He has a heart of gold, and some lovely lady will be blessed with his ‘Old Soul’ some day.

Our lives have blended together in ways we never would’ve imagined but in the end we are one crazy-not-so-little Billett Bunch!  We can’t wait to share our lives with you all!

Here’s to many more Adventures!!!
